We provided legal assistance to a Swedish multinational corporation that manufactures trucks, buses, construction equipment, and marine and industrial engine, by offering concise advice on four key assumptions related to vehicle telematics in Benin, Madagascar, and the Republic of Guinea. This included confirming the permissibility of permanent roaming with foreign SIM cards, the absence of data localization requirements for non-special category personal data, no restrictions on collecting and using geospatial data by foreign service providers, and no license requirements for satellite-based communication from the vehicle, all while disregarding pure data privacy aspects.
