We provided legal assistance for a loan transaction in Benin for an impact-first investment fund manager dedicated to expanding opportunity for people living in poverty, involving advice on local lending requirements, tax considerations, governing law, language, and venue, as well as reviewing and adapting their template loan agreement. Our work also included conducting legal due diligence on the borrower, delivering a legal opinion on enforceability, and assisting with execution, stamping, and registration formalities.
